Terms and Conditions for Cheshire Cat Flap Fitters Ltd

 

1. The Contract

 

By booking an installation with Cheshire Cat Flap Fitters Ltd, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

A contract is formed once we have confirmed your booking in writing (via email or text) and, where applicable, a deposit has been paid.

 

2. Quotations and Pricing

 

All quotes are valid for 30 days.

The price quoted includes labor, materials and the Cat Flap/Pet Door unless otherwise stated.

 

3. Glass & Double Glazing (The "No-Cut" Rule)

 

Toughened Glass: Customers acknowledge that existing toughened safety glass cannot be cut. Installation in glass requires a brand-new factory-made sealed unit with a pre-cut hole.

 

Lead Times: New glass units typically take 7–14 working days to manufacture. We are not liable for delays caused by the glass manufacturer.

 

Measurements: If we take the measurements, we are responsible for the fit. If the customer provides measurements, the customer is liable for the cost of the glass if it does not fit.

 

4. Property & Aesthetics

 

Minor Imperfections: While we take every care, the installation involves cutting into your property. Minor cosmetic marks or the need for small touch-ups (paint/sealant) around the installation site are the homeowner's responsibility.

 

Structural Integrity: We are not liable for pre-existing damage, such as rotting door frames or crumbling masonry, that is revealed during the installation process.

 

5. Pet Behavior & Security

 

Training: We are professional fitters, not animal behaviorists. We do not guarantee that your pet will use the flap. No refunds will be given if a pet refuses to use the installed product.

 

Security: A pet flap, by its nature, creates an opening in your property. While we install high-quality products, the homeowner accepts all responsibility for home security and insurance compliance.

 

6. Cancellations & Rescheduling

 

Cancellations: Please provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule.

 

Custom Orders: Once we have measured up and the custom-ordered glass unit has been manufactured, it can not be cancelled, as these items cannot be resold.

 

7. Payment Terms

 

Payment is due immediately upon completion of the installation.

 

Title of goods (the cat flap or glass) remains with Cheshire Cat Flap Fitters Ltd until the invoice is paid in full.

 

8. Warranty & Liability

 

Workmanship: We provide a 3 year guarantee on our installation work.

 

Product Failure: If the cat flap unit itself fails (e.g., electronic fault), the manufacturer’s warranty applies. We can assist with a replacement, but a labor charge may apply for the re-fit.

 

9. Additional 

 

Tenant Permission & Listed Buildings: It is the customer’s sole responsibility to ensure they have the necessary permissions (from landlords, management companies, or local councils for listed buildings) before work commences. Cheshire Cat Flap Fitters Ltd accepts no liability for unauthorized alterations

 

Home Insurance Impact: The customer is advised to notify their home insurance provider of the installation incase it causes any changes to their insurance. This is independent to each insurer and we accept no responsibility for any changes to insurance premiums or the invalidation of policies resulting from the installation of a pet door.

 

Data Protection (GDPR): We collect your personal data solely for the purpose of fulfilling your booking and invoicing. We will not share your data with third parties except where necessary for the manufacture of custom glass units. Our full Privacy Policy is available on our website
